Binance Announces USD.AI (CHIP) Airdrop, Expanding AI-Focused DeFi Ecosystem

Author: BrianExchange14h ago

Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance has unveiled USD.AI (CHIP) as the latest project featured in its HODLer Airdrops program, highlighting a growing intersection between artificial intelligence infrastructure and decentralized finance (DeFi).

USD.AI is designed as a permissionless lending protocol that enables GPU operators to tokenize their hardware as collateral and access instant financing. The model aims to address capital constraints in the rapidly expanding AI sector, where demand for computational resources continues to surge.

According to Binance, the total supply of CHIP is capped at 10 billion tokens, with 25 million tokens allocated for distribution through the HODLer Airdrop. Upon listing, approximately 2 billion tokens—representing 20% of the total supply—will enter circulation. The token will be deployed on both Ethereum and Arbitrum networks.

The airdrop targets users who subscribed their BNB holdings to Simple Earn (Flexible or Locked) or On-Chain Yields products between April 13 and April 15, 2026 (UTC). Eligible participants will receive their rewards automatically in their Spot accounts within approximately five hours following the official announcement, with no additional action required.

Binance’s HODLer Airdrops program distributes rewards based on historical snapshots of users’ BNB balances. By simply holding or subscribing BNB to eligible yield products, users can qualify for token distributions retroactively. However, reward calculations are subject to a cap, with any individual user’s effective BNB holding ratio limited to a maximum of 4%.

Industry observers note that USD.AI represents a notable attempt to bridge AI infrastructure financing with DeFi mechanisms. By tokenizing GPU assets, the protocol introduces a potential pathway for unlocking liquidity in a sector traditionally constrained by high upfront hardware costs.

Binance also cautioned users against engaging in off-platform trading of CHIP tokens prior to official listing, citing risks such as scams and counterfeit assets. As with many early-stage token distributions, due diligence remains critical for market participants.

As the snapshot period for this airdrop has already concluded, analysts suggest that users interested in future rewards may consider proactively allocating BNB to eligible products to maximize participation in upcoming HODLer campaigns.
